Thank you—it was a favorite to write as well! I felt like it pulled it all together. And I'm glad you're reinforcing my PNW bucket list haha Thanks for reading!
Amidst some of the incredible writings out there on this platform and other places in life, I think I've come back to this poem three times now- and every time that I read it, I walk away with a new truth or connection. I think you found the sweet spot between vulnerability and poetry expressed in a form that takes us on a journey. I'll never look at a sequoia the same way again.
Ok, I'm already beside myself when someone reads what I write, but to come back to it again is special—especially since it's a longer piece that you couldn't conveniently consume while waiting in line at the Tim Hortons 😆 I'm glad it held something worth reading again, I appreciate that. It felt like a sweet spot. Have you ever gotten to see the Sequoias?
Wow Joel, reading this I feel so seen. I can resonate with so much of what you’ve shared. And the imagery of the wilderness of the heart and the sequoia soul really capture that experience of exploring and embracing my inner world. Thanks for the beautiful words!
Love this! This means a lot when words can validate and shine some light on something true about us that others might not notice or understand... or that even we don't always notice about ourselves. I’m glad it landed that way. Thanks for sharing that and for reading.
‘The wild welcomes rest when it informs us we’re alive.’ Loved this line! Also, my husband and I love the PNW, too. So much beauty.

Trust me- it was worth the time spent 🤘
And I’m going to pretend the Tim Hortons comment didn’t just happen 😂
I have seen sequoias! There are a few on Vancouver Island.
I may or may not be jealous right now that you've seen them before!
And I may or may not be jealous of Tim Hortons 🙃

Yes! I love the solidarity! I'm constantly inspired by my charismatic/rebellious friends; the world is better because of them. Thanks for reading 🙌
